Based in New York City, Milo Pullman has performed in venues ranging from the basement of a Chinese restaurant to the Bowery Ballroom. His sound draws from traditional American musical genres such as rock and roll, blues, folk and country. His lyrics interweave a multitude of references to literature and history, while at the same time remaining both intensely personal and current.

In preparation for the recording of his debut album “I-95”, Pullman performed his songs at a series of informal gatherings of musicians and artists hosted by a Manhattan composer and DJ. Then, in search of a change of scenery, he traveled with veteran recording engineer Tim Hatfield to upstate New York, where they cut and mixed the record to analog tape with only a single edit. Upon his arrival, he recruited a small group of musicians local to the recording studio to accompany him on some of the songs. The recordings were cut quickly, sometimes in a single take, with only brief rundowns in order to capture the other players’ gut reaction to the material.

Utilizing an uncompromising storytelling approach to songwriting and delivery, Pullman touches on a variety of matters including love, politics, religion, war and art as seen through the contemporary eyes of characters navigating a turbulent and disorienting world. The stories of “I-95” - raw, poetic and at times possessing an incisive humor, are full of questions, free of dogma, and encourage the listener to reflect on the world and reach their own conclusions.
